रथयूथपयो: पक्षौ कुरुपाण्डववीरयो: । दृष्टवा प्रजापतिं देवा: स्वयम्भुवमचोदयन्‌

Transliteration

rathayūthapayoḥ pakṣau kurupāṇḍavavīrayoḥ | dṛṣṭvā prajāpatiṃ devāḥ svayambhuvam acodayan |

Translation

Sañjaya thưa: Karṇa và Arjuna, những thủ lĩnh tối thượng của các đội chiến xa, đứng như hai cánh đối nghịch của các dũng sĩ Kuru và Pāṇḍava. Thấy hai phe bày trận như vậy, chư thiên đến gần Prajāpati Svayambhū (Brahmā) và thúc giục Ngài lên tiếng—tìm một phán quyết cao cả cho cuộc xung đột mà dũng lực và chính nghĩa dường như đang cân bằng trong căng thẳng.
