विद्रवन्तु दिशो भीता: सिंहत्रस्ता मृगा इव । “श्रीकृष्ण! आज कर्णके मारे जानेपर राजासहित धृतराष्ट्रके सभी पुत्र सिंहसे डरे हुए मृगोंके समान भयभीत हो सम्पूर्ण दिशाओंमें भाग जायूँ
vidravantu diśo bhītāḥ siṁhatrastā mṛgā iva |
Sañjaya nói: “Hỡi Śrī Kṛṣṇa! Khi Karṇa bị giết hôm nay, mong cho các con của Dhṛtarāṣṭra, cùng cả vua, hoảng sợ như nai gặp sư tử mà chạy tán loạn về mọi hướng.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how fear inevitably overtakes those whose strength rests on pride and external supports: when the chief protector falls, confidence collapses and the unrighteous cause loses cohesion.
Sañjaya describes (in vivid simile) the expected panic and scattering of the Kaurava forces—fleeing in all directions like deer startled by a lion—especially in the context of Karṇa being slain and the Kaurava side losing its main champion.
