प्रेष्यवच्चापि राजानमुपस्थास्यन्ति कौरवम् । “निश्चय ही ये थोथे तिलोंके समान नपुंसक हैं और नरकमें डूब गये हैं। आजसे ये दासोंके समान कौरव-नरेशकी सेवामें उपस्थित होंगे” ।।
preṣyavaccāpi rājānam upasthāsyanti kauravam | ityuktavān adharmajñas tadā paramadurmatī ||
Sañjaya nói: “Từ nay họ sẽ hầu cận vua Kaurava như những kẻ tôi tớ.” Nói xong, kẻ ấy—mù mờ về dharma và mang ý chí lệch lạc tột cùng—đã buông lời phán xét cay nghiệt, gán người khác là sa đọa và mất khí phách; qua đó lộ rõ sự suy đồi đạo lý đi kèm với kiêu mạn và khinh miệt giữa cơn cuồng loạn của chiến tranh.
