“नरश्रेष्ठ! पार्थ! आज तुम अपनी प्रतिज्ञाके अनुसार तीखे बाणोंसे कर्णका वध करके उज्ज्वल कीर्ति प्राप्त करो ।।
sañjaya uvāca | naraśreṣṭha pārtha adya tvaṃ svapratijñānusāreṇa tīkṣṇabāṇaiḥ karṇavadhaṃ kṛtvā ujjvalāṃ kīrtiṃ prāpnuhi | tvaṃ hi śakto raṇe jetuṃ sa-karṇān api kauravān | nānyo yudhi yudhāṃśreṣṭha satyam etad bravīmi te ||
Sañjaya nói: “Hỡi bậc trượng phu tối thượng, hỡi Pārtha! Hôm nay, đúng theo lời thệ nguyện, hãy dùng những mũi tên sắc bén mà giết Karna để giành lấy vinh quang rực rỡ. Vì chỉ một mình ngươi mới có thể, nơi chiến địa, đánh bại toàn thể Kaurava dù Karna còn ở giữa họ. Không một chiến binh nào khác làm được điều ấy, hỡi bậc nhất trong hàng dũng sĩ—ta nói với ngươi đây là sự thật.”
