वदनै: पश्य संछज्ञां महीं शोणितकर्दमाम् । “देखो
vadanaiḥ paśya sañchannāṃ mahīṃ śoṇita-kardamām |
Sañjaya nói: “Hãy nhìn—mặt đất bị phủ kín bởi những khuôn mặt, và nền đất đã hóa thành bùn máu. Chiến địa nghẹt đặc những gương mặt trang sức của các dũng sĩ đã ngã xuống—rạng ngời như trăng sao, điểm những đôi khuyên tai duyên dáng, có râu và ria—nay nằm đó như chứng tích lạnh lùng về tai họa mà chiến tranh đem lại.”
