कर्णवधार्थं धनञ्जयस्य प्रतिज्ञा — Arjuna’s resolve for Karṇa’s defeat
निग्रहीतुमुपाक्रामन् क्रोधाविष्टा: समन्तत: । माननीय नरेश! क्रोधमें भरे हुए संशप्तकोंने सब ओरसे आक्रमण करके अर्जुनके रथके घोड़ों, दोनों पहियों तथा ईषादण्डको भी पकड़ना आरम्भ किया ।। निगृहा तं रथं तस्य योधास्ते तु सहस्रश:

nigrahītum upākrāman krodhāviṣṭāḥ samantataḥ |
nigṛhya taṁ rathaṁ tasya yodhās te tu sahasraśaḥ ||
Sañjaya nói: Bị cơn giận xâm chiếm, chúng từ mọi phía ào tới để bắt giữ và khống chế. Những chiến binh ấy, hàng nghìn người, khép chặt quanh chiến xa của chàng, toan ghì giữ nó—nắm lấy sự chuyển động và quyền điều khiển—hòng chặn bước tiến của Arjuna bằng sức mạnh và cuồng nộ.
