नरास्तु निहता भूमौ कूजन्तस्तत्र मारिष | दृष्टवा च बान्धवानन्ये पितृनन्ये पितामहान्
narāstu nihatā bhūmau kūjantastatra māriṣa | dṛṣṭvā ca bāndhavān anye pitṝn anye pitāmahān |
Sañjaya thưa: “Ô bậc đáng kính, nơi chiến địa ấy, nhiều người bị đánh gục nằm trên đất, kêu gào trong đau đớn. Có kẻ thấy thân quyến mình thì rên xiết thành tiếng; kẻ khác, trông thấy cha và ông mình, bắt đầu nói những lời đứt quãng, mơ hồ.”
