तादृशं न कदाचिद्धि दृष्टपूर्व न च श्रुतम् तदनन्तर सूर्यके मध्याह्नकी वेलामें आ जानेपर अत्यन्त घोर युद्ध आरम्भ हुआ। वैसा न तो पहले कभी देखा गया था और न सुननेमें ही आया था
tādṛśaṃ na kadāciddhi dṛṣṭapūrvaṃ na ca śrutam | tadanantaraṃ sūryake madhyāhnikī velāyāṃ ājānepara atyanta ghoraṃ yuddham ārambhaḥ abhavat ||
Sañjaya nói: “Chưa từng có điều gì như thế được thấy, cũng chưa từng được nghe. Rồi khi mặt trời chạm đến giờ chính ngọ, một trận chiến vô cùng ghê rợn bùng nổ.”
