Transliteration

tasmin sainyamahāvarte pātālatala-sannibhe

Translation

Sañjaya nói: Giữa cơn lốc quân binh mênh mông đang cuộn xoáy—đen tối, ghê rợn như tận đáy cõi Pātāla—cảnh chiến trường hiện ra như một vực thẳm đang khuấy đảo, lôi kéo vô số sinh mạng vào diệt vong. Câu thơ gợi lên nỗi kinh hoàng đạo lý của chiến tranh: khi cuồng nộ và tham vọng của đám đông tụ lại, chính chiến địa hóa thành một xoáy địa ngục, nuốt chửng sự tỉnh thức và lòng trắc ẩn.
