Karṇa’s Bhārgavāstra and the Search for Yudhiṣṭhira
Chapter 45
The verse underscores that true martial excellence is recognized even by opponents: steadfastness, unity, and rightful resolve make warriors “hard to conquer,” and ethical warfare includes acknowledging an adversary’s strength.
In the Karṇa Parva battle context, Śalya points out Nakula and Sahadeva standing ready in the fight, praising them as twin-like heroes comparable to the Aśvins and warning that defeating them will be extremely difficult.
