अपन क्रात बछ। अर: 2 अष्टात्रिशो&् ध्याय: कर्णके द्वारा 530 अर्जुनका पता बतानेवालेको नाना प्रकारकी डा और इच्छानुसार धन देनेकी षणा संजय उवाच प्रयाणे च तत: कर्णो हर्षयन् वाहिनीं तव । एकैकं समरे दृष्टवा पाण्डवान् पर्यमृच्छत,संजय कहते हैं--राजन! प्रस्थानकालमें आपकी सेनाका हर्ष बढ़ाता हुआ कर्ण समरांगणमें पाण्डव-सैनिकोंको देखकर प्रत्येकसे पूछने और कहने लगा--

prayāṇe ca tataḥ karṇo harṣayan vāhinīṁ tava |
ekaikaṁ samare dṛṣṭvā pāṇḍavān paryamṛcchat ||
Sañjaya thưa: “Tâu Đại vương, khi quân đội xuất phát, Karna—làm cho đạo quân của bệ hạ hân hoan—đưa mắt nhìn các chiến sĩ Pāṇḍava trên chiến địa rồi đi khắp nơi, lần lượt cất lời hỏi han và gọi tên từng người.”
