प्रदीपयन् रथे तस्थौ त्रीललोकान् स्वेन तेजसा । खड्ग, धनुष और बाण लेकर शोभा पाते हुए वरदायक महादेवजी अपने तेजसे तीनों लोकोंको प्रकाशित करते हुए रथपर स्थित हो गये
pradīpayan rathe tasthau trīl lokān svena tejasā | khaḍga-dhanuṣ-bāṇān gṛhītvā śobhām āpannaḥ varadāyakaḥ mahādevaḥ svena tejasā trīl lokān pradīpayan rathe tasthau ||
Bhīṣma nói: Mahādeva, Đấng ban ân phúc, tay cầm kiếm, cung và tên, đứng trên chiến xa; và bằng chính hào quang của mình, Ngài soi sáng cả ba cõi. Cảnh ấy nêu bật chủ quyền thần thánh giữa chiến tranh: sức mạnh được biểu lộ trong kỷ luật và mục đích, có thể che chở và ban ân ngay cả nơi chiến địa.
