स तद्‌ विकृष्य भगवान्‌ दिव्यं लोकेश्वरो धनु:

sa tad vikṛṣya bhagavān divyaṁ lokeśvaro dhanuḥ

Bấy giờ, Đấng Tôn Nghiêm—Chúa tể của muôn cõi—kéo căng cây cung thần ấy; đó là dấu hiệu của ý chí tối thượng và sự sẵn sàng thi hành chính pháp giữa sức ép khốc liệt của chiến tranh.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights decisive, disciplined action under rightful authority: when dharma must be upheld in a crisis, hesitation gives way to resolute readiness, symbolized by drawing the divine bow.

In Bhīṣma’s narration, a revered, world-sovereign figure is described as drawing back a divine bow, indicating immediate preparation for a consequential martial act within the war context.
