हतवीरमिदं सैन्यं पाण्डवै: समरे विभो । कर्णो होको महाबाहुरस्मत्प्रियहिते रत:
hatavīram idaṁ sainyaṁ pāṇḍavaiḥ samare vibho | karṇo hy eko mahābāhur asmatpriyahite rataḥ ||
Sañjaya nói: “Tâu bậc chúa tể hùng mạnh, trong chiến trận, quân Pāṇḍava đã đoạt mạng các dũng tướng hàng đầu của ta, khiến đạo quân này mất đi những anh hùng trụ cột. Chỉ còn Karṇa, bậc đại lực nơi cánh tay—một lòng bền chí vì điều thân thiết và lợi ích của chúng ta.”
