नवमं च समाधाय व्यसृजत्‌ प्राणघातिनम्‌ | दुर्योधनायेषुवरं त॑ द्रौणि: सप्तधाच्छिनत्‌

Transliteration

navamaṃ ca samādhāya vyasṛjat prāṇaghātinam | duryodhanāyeṣuvāraṃ taṃ drauṇiḥ saptadhācchinat ||

Translation

Sañjaya nói: Lắp mũi tên thứ chín—mũi tên đoạt mạng—ông phóng mũi tên tuyệt hảo ấy về phía Duryodhana. Nhưng Aśvatthāman, con của Droṇa, đã chém mũi tên siêu việt đó thành bảy đoạn—vừa che chở phe mình, vừa làm đà tàn khốc của trận chiến thêm dữ dội.
