कर्णस्य दानप्रतिज्ञा–शल्योपदेश–वाक्ययुद्धम्

तथा सावरणान कांक्षित्तत्र तत्र विशाम्पते । रथान् नागा: समासाद्य परिगृह्य॒ च मारिष
tathā sāvaraṇān kāṅkṣit tatra tatra viśāmpate | rathān nāgāḥ samāsādya parigṛhya ca māriṣa | parvatasyeva śikharaṃ vajrughnaṃ mahītale ||
Sañjaya thưa: “Tâu bậc chúa của muôn dân, trong trận chiến ghê rợn ấy, bầy voi hết lần này đến lần khác áp sát, dùng vòi chộp lấy những chiến xa có mui che rồi bất thần dồn sức kéo giật và hất văng đi xa. Thế nhưng ngay cả những voi lực lưỡng ấy, khi trúng những mũi tên sắc nhọn, cũng đổ sụp xuống đất như đỉnh núi bị lôi đình (vajra) đánh vỡ.”
