बभूव तुमुल॑ युद्ध तयो: पुरुषसिंहयो: । चरित्वा विविधान् मार्गान् मण्डलस्थानमेव च,उन दोनों पुरुषसिंहोंमें मण्डलाकार घूमकर भाँति-भाँतिके पैंतरे दिखाते हुए भयंकर युद्ध होने लगा
babhūva tumulaṁ yuddhaṁ tayoḥ puruṣasiṁhayoḥ | caritvā vividhān mārgān maṇḍalasthānam eva ca ||
Sañjaya nói: Một trận chiến dữ dội và náo động bùng lên giữa hai người hùng như sư tử ấy. Vừa xoay vòng theo thế trận, vừa đổi nhiều đường tiếp cận, họ phô bày đủ kiểu biến hóa khi giao tranh—mỗi bên thử thách kỹ nghệ và ý chí của bên kia trong kỷ luật chết chóc của chiến trường.
