कल्प्यतां नागमुख्यानां रथानां च वरूथिनाम् | संनहातां नराणां च वाजिनां च विशाम्पते
sañjaya uvāca | kalpyatāṃ nāgamukhyānāṃ rathānāṃ ca varūthinām | saṃnahātāṃ narāṇāṃ ca vājīnāṃ ca viśāmpate prajānātha |
Sañjaya thưa: “Tâu đấng chúa tể muôn dân, công cuộc chuẩn bị đang diễn ra: những chiến tượng hàng đầu được sửa soạn; những chiến xa có màn che bảo hộ được trang bị; binh sĩ mặc giáp, mang khí giới đầy đủ; và ngựa chiến được thắng yên, buộc cương. Tiếng huyên náo của quân đội trong giờ khắc sẵn sàng và tiếng gọi nhau của các dũng sĩ dội vang, vút cao lên tận trời.”
