Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical gravity of war: even seasoned warriors recognize when conflict becomes unprecedented in ferocity, reminding the listener that dharma in battle can be overshadowed by escalating violence and its moral cost.

Bhīmasena reports that a direct assault was made upon Droṇa on the battlefield, triggering a massive, chaotic engagement—so extraordinary that the warriors claim they had neither seen nor heard of anything comparable.
