नवैते तव वाहिन्यामुच्छिता: परमध्वजा:
navaite tava vāhinyām ucchitāḥ paramadhvajāḥ
Sañjaya thưa: “Những người phất cờ hàng đầu ấy nay đã bị chém ngã trong quân đội của bệ hạ.” Lời tâu làm nổi bật sức nặng đạo lý nghiệt ngã của chiến tranh: ngay cả những dũng sĩ lẫy lừng, mang kỳ tiêu cao ngất và danh tiếng vang xa, cũng không được dung tha khi cuộc xung đột do adharma thúc đẩy đạt đến cơn dữ dội tột cùng.
