Adhyāya 92: Irāvanta-śoka, punaḥ-pravṛttiḥ saṅgrāmasya

Arjuna’s grief and the battle’s renewed intensity

न हि दुर्योधनो मन्द: पुरा प्रोक्तमबुध्यत । वार्यमाणो मया तात भीष्मेण विदुरेण च

dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca |

na hi duryodhano mandaḥ purā proktam abudhyata |

vāryamāṇo mayā tāta bhīṣmeṇa vidureṇa ca |

Dhṛtarāṣṭra nói: “Duryodhana vốn không phải kẻ đần độn; vậy mà thuở trước hắn đã không hiểu những lời đã nói với mình. Dù ta, con ạ, cùng Bhīṣma và Vidura nhiều lần cố ngăn hắn, hắn vẫn chẳng chịu nghe lời khuyên. Bởi mê muội và cố chấp, hắn khước từ lời răn vì thiện ý—và hậu quả đắng cay của sự khước từ ấy nay đã chín thành tai họa.”
