इति श्रीमहाभारते भीष्मपर्वणि भीष्मवधपर्वणि द्न्द्युद्धे न्यशीतितमो5ध्याय: ।। ८३ || इस प्रकार श्रीमह्ाभारत भीष्मपर्वके अन्तर्गत भीष्यवधपर्वमें द्धयुद्धविषयक तिरासीवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti śrīmahābhārate bhīṣmaparvaṇi bhīṣmavadhaparvaṇi dvandvayuddhe nyaśītitamo 'dhyāyaḥ || 83 ||
Sañjaya thưa: “Như vậy, trong bộ Śrī Mahābhārata, thuộc Bhīṣma Parva—đặc biệt trong phần nói về sự ngã xuống của Bhīṣma—đây là chương thứ tám mươi ba, bàn về cuộc quyết đấu nơi chiến địa, nay đã kết thúc.” Công thức kết thúc này đặt biến cố vào trong đại ký lục đạo lý và lịch sử của cuộc chiến, đánh dấu sự khép lại của một đơn vị tự sự xoay quanh giao tranh và những hệ quả nghiêm trọng của nó.
