Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Sañjaya-saṃvādaḥ; madhyāhna-saṅgrāma-pravṛttiḥ
Dhritarashtra–Sanjaya dialogue and the midday battle escalation
ध्वजमेकेन विव्याध सारथथिं चास्य पञ्चभि: | धनुरेकेषुणाविध्यत् तत्राक्रुध्यद् द्विजर्षभ:
dhvajam ekena vivyādha sārathiṁ cāsya pañcabhiḥ | dhanur ekeṣuṇā vidhyat tatrākrudhyad dvijarṣabhaḥ ||
Sañjaya nói: Chỉ một mũi tên, chàng xuyên thủng lá cờ; năm mũi, chàng hạ người đánh xe; và thêm một mũi nữa, chàng chém đứt cây cung. Bởi thế, Droṇācārya—bậc trượng phu giữa hàng Bà-la-môn—bừng bừng phẫn nộ, vì tài nghệ ấy đã biến trận chiến thành một lời thách thức đạo lý: dùng sức mạnh để làm tê liệt và làm nhục, chứ không chỉ để giết.
