The Tumult of Battle Described
सादिनश्चाश्वपृष्ठेभ्यो भूमौ चापि पदातिन: । गदया व्यधमत् सर्वान् वातो वृक्षानिवौजसा
sādinaścāśvapṛṣṭhebhyo bhūmau cāpi padātinaḥ | gadayā vyadhamat sarvān vāto vṛkṣānivaujasā ||
Sañjaya nói: Với cây chùy, chàng đánh quật tất cả—kẻ kỵ mã khỏi lưng ngựa và bộ binh ngay trên mặt đất—như cơn gió dữ nhổ bật cây cối. Câu kệ nhấn mạnh sức mạnh áp đảo, vô tư của bạo lực chiến trường: sức lực và đà xung kích có thể làm tan hàng ngũ bất kể địa vị, nhắc người nghe về sự hủy diệt nhanh chóng và san bằng của chiến tranh.
