Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | gāruḍaṃ ca mahāvyūhaṃ cakre śāntanavas tadā | putrāṇāṃ te jayākāṅkṣī bhīṣmaḥ kurupitāmahaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya nói: Khi ấy, Bhīṣma—con của Śāntanu, bậc tổ phụ của dòng Kuru—đã bày trận đồ vĩ đại mang tên “Garuḍa”, mong đem chiến thắng về cho các con trai của ngài.
