नाशयामास वेगेन वायुर्वृक्षानिवौजसा । दुर्योधन आदि सब राजाओंके द्वारा पाण्डवसेनाको युद्धमें मारी जाती देख श्वेतने गंगापुत्र भीष्मको छोड़कर आपके पुत्रकी सेनाका उसी प्रकार वेगपूर्वक विनाश आरम्भ किया, जैसे आँधी अपनी शक्तिसे वृक्षोंको उखाड़ फेंकती है || ४७-४८ ह ।।

nāśayāmāsa vegena vāyur vṛkṣān ivaujasā |
drāvayitvā camūṃ rājan vairāṭiḥ krodha-mūrcchitaḥ |
Sañjaya thưa: Với tốc lực và uy lực không gì cưỡng nổi, chàng bắt đầu phá tan đạo quân địch, như cơn cuồng phong tự sức mình bật gốc cây rừng. Sau khi làm quân đội tháo chạy, tâu Đại vương, con trai Virāṭa, bị cơn giận cuốn trùm, lại càng thúc mạnh cuộc tấn công.
