भीष्मसेनासंनिवेशः — Bhīṣma’s Mobilization, Omens, and the Kaurava Array
इदं वः क्षत्रिया द्वारं स्वर्गायापावृतं महत् । गच्छध्वं तेन शक्रस्य ब्रह्मण: सहलोकताम्,'क्षत्रियो! यह युद्ध तुम्हारे लिये स्वर्गका खुला हुआ विशाल द्वार है। तुमलोग इसके द्वारा इन्द्र अथवा ब्रह्माजीका सालोक्य प्राप्त करो
idaṃ vaḥ kṣatriyā dvāraṃ svargāyāpāvṛtaṃ mahat | gacchadhvaṃ tena śakrasya brahmaṇaḥ sahalokatām ||
Sañjaya nói: “Hỡi các kṣatriya, cánh cổng lớn dẫn đến thiên giới đang mở rộng cho các ngươi. Hãy bước qua đó mà đạt được sự đồng cư (sālokya) trong cùng cõi với Śakra (Indra) hoặc với Brahmā.” Bài kệ đặt cuộc chiến chính nghĩa như một con đường được thừa nhận cho giai cấp chiến binh, xem cái chết hay chiến thắng trong chiến tranh dharma là sự thăng hoa tinh thần chứ không chỉ là bạo lực.
