नैव नस्तादृशो राजन दृष्टपूर्वो न च श्रुत: । अनीकानां समेतानां कौरवाणां तथाविध:,राजन्! कौरवोंकी इतनी बड़ी सेनाका वैसा संगठन मैंने पहले कभी न तो देखा था और नसुना ही था
naiva nas tādṛśo rājan dṛṣṭapūrvo na ca śrutaḥ | anīkānāṁ sametānāṁ kauravāṇāṁ tathāvidhaḥ ||
Sañjaya nói: Tâu Đại vương, chưa bao giờ thần thấy—cũng chưa từng nghe—một sự bố trí như thế. Quân Kaurava, tụ hội thành nhiều đạo quân, được dàn thành đội hình vừa đáng sợ vừa nghiêm chỉnh. Lời ấy nêu bật quy mô phi thường và kỷ luật của đại quân, đồng thời gợi lên sức nặng đạo lý của cuộc chiến khi quyền lực lớn lao như vậy đang được huy động.
