Bhīṣma-parva Adhyāya 16 — Saṃjaya’s Boon, Bhīṣma’s Protection, and the Dawn Arraying of Armies
महेन्द्रकेतव: शुभ्रा महेन्द्रसदनेष्विव । संनद्धास्ते प्रवीराश्च ददृशुर्युद्धकाड्क्षिण:
sañjaya uvāca | mahendraketavaḥ śubhrā mahendrasadaneṣv iva | sannaddhās te pravīrāś ca dadṛśur yuddhakāṅkṣiṇaḥ ||
Sañjaya thưa: Như những lá cờ rực sáng của Đế Thích (Indra) lấp lánh trong chính thiên điện của Ngài, thì cờ hiệu của hai đạo quân Kaurava và Pāṇḍava cũng chói ngời như thế. Các dũng tướng hàng đầu ấy, vũ trang và giáp trụ đầy đủ, được thấy đứng sẵn—ai nấy đều khát khao giao chiến khi đại chiến sắp mở màn.
