क्षत्रं चान्ये5भ्यनिन्दन्त भीष्म चान्ये3भ्यपूजयन्‌ । ऋषय: पितरश्रैव प्रशशंसुर्महाव्रतम्‌

Transliteration

kṣatraṃ cānye ’bhyanindanta bhīṣmaṃ cānye ’bhyapūjayan | ṛṣayaḥ pitarāś caiva praśaśaṃsur mahāvratam ||

Translation

Sañjaya nói: Có kẻ chê trách đạo của chiến binh, lại có kẻ tôn vinh Bhīṣma. Các bậc hiền triết và các Tổ phụ (Pitṛ) cũng đồng thanh ca ngợi Bhīṣma—bậc đại thệ nguyện—tán dương sự kiên định của kỷ luật trọn đời ông, ngay giữa cơn nhiễu nhương đạo lý của chiến tranh.
