Shloka 103
।। सम्प्रेक्ष्य वै महाबुद्धिश्रचिन्तयित्वा च भारत
saṃprekṣya vai mahābuddhiś cintayitvā ca bhārata, bhārata! haṃsānāṃ jāte samaye tān dṛṣṭvā parama-buddhimān bhīṣmaḥ kiñcid vicārya tān uvāca—ahaṃ sūryasya dakṣiṇāyane vartamāne kathaṃcid api ihaḥ prāṇān parityajya na yāsyāmi; eṣa me manasaḥ niścitaḥ saṅkalpaḥ.
Sañjaya nói: Hỡi Bhārata! Khi thấy đàn thiên nga đến lúc rời đi, Bhīṣma—bậc trí tuệ tối thượng—nhìn theo, trầm tư một lát rồi nói với họ: “Chừng nào mặt trời còn ở nam hành (dakṣiṇāyana), ta sẽ không rời khỏi nơi này bằng bất cứ cách nào. Đó là quyết ý đã định trong lòng ta.”
