Educational Q&A

Even when duty compels confrontation, the Mahābhārata frames war as morally weighty: revered elders may be opposed for a larger cause, yet the act remains grave. The verse highlights disciplined, collective action against overwhelming power, while implicitly reminding that dharma in war is complex—necessity does not erase ethical tension.

Sañjaya reports that Drupada, Virāṭa, and Dhṛṣṭadyumna, along with the Sṛñjaya forces, unite and attack Bhīṣma on the battlefield with great force and terrifying battle-cries, attempting to break through his defenses and check his dominance.
