समन्ततश्न दृश्यन्ते पतिता धरणीतले । बाणोंकी वेदनासे आतुर हो पताकाओंसहित बड़े-बड़े हाथी चारों दिशाओंमें चक्कर काट रहे थे। नरेन्द्र! गदा, शक्ति और धनुष धारण किये हुए बहुत-से क्षत्रिय सब ओर पृथ्वीपर पड़े दृष्टिगोचर हो रहे थे || ६१ है ।।
samantataś ca dṛśyante patitā dharaṇītale |
Sañjaya nói: Khắp bốn phía đều thấy chiến sĩ ngã gục trên mặt đất. Chiến địa rải đầy thi thể của bao kṣatriya—vua chúa và dũng sĩ cầm chùy, lao và cung—phơi bày cái giá khủng khiếp của cơn giận và sự tranh đoạt khi dharma bị che lấp bởi cơn thôi thúc phải chiến thắng.
