भीष्मरथाभिमुख्यं — Arjuna’s advance with Śikhaṇḍin; Duḥśāsana’s interception

सर्वलोकेश्चरा: शूरास्तत्र तत्र विशाम्पते । विप्रद्रुता व्यदृश्यन्त प्राकृता इव मानवा:

sañjaya uvāca | sarvalokeścarāḥ śūrās tatra tatra viśāmpate | vipradrutā vyadṛśyanta prākṛtā iva mānavāḥ ||

Sañjaya thưa: Ôi chúa tể muôn dân, những dũng sĩ lừng danh khắp các cõi đã bị thấy đây đó, tan vỡ đội ngũ mà chạy—trông như người thường. Vậy nên, ngay cả những bậc được tôn xưng là quán quân vang danh thiên hạ, khi mất chiến xa và bị sức ép chiến trường làm chấn động, cũng như đánh rơi hào quang cũ, chạy rối loạn—phơi bày rằng chiến tranh san bằng địa vị và bộc lộ sự mong manh của kiếp người.
