Transliteration

bhīṣmas tu saṁhataḥ saṅkhye dhārtarāṣṭrīḥ sa-sainikaiḥ

Translation

Sañjaya nói: Giữa nơi giao tranh dày đặc, Bhīṣma bị dồn ép và vây bọc bởi các con trai của Dhṛtarāṣṭra cùng quân lính của họ—một hình ảnh của nghịch lý u ám của chiến tranh, nơi lòng trung thành với phe mình có thể đặt ngay cả bậc chiến sĩ cao quý nhất vào hiểm nguy và căng thẳng đạo lý.
