भीष्मवधोपाय-प्रश्नः (Inquiry into the means to overcome Bhīṣma) | Chapter 103

शराश्ष निशिता: पीता निश्चरन्ति सम संयुगे | वनात्‌ फुल्लद्रुमाद्‌ राजन्‌ भ्रमराणामिव व्रजा:,युद्धके मैदानमें उसके धनुषसे तीखे और चमचमाते बाण इस प्रकार छूटते थे, मानो विकसित वृक्षावलियोंसे भरे हुए वनप्रान्तसे भ्रमरोंके समूह निकल रहे हों

śarāś ca niśitāḥ pītā niścaranti sama-saṃyuge | vanāt phulla-drumād rājan bhramarāṇām iva vrajāḥ ||

Sañjaya nói: “Giữa trận chiến cân sức ấy, những mũi tên sắc bén, lấp lánh cứ tuôn ra từ cây cung của chàng không dứt. Tâu Đại vương, chúng trào ra như đàn ong bay khỏi bìa rừng đầy cây đang nở rộ—một hình ảnh làm nổi bật uy lực võ nghệ, đồng thời nhắc rằng chiến tranh, dẫu có nhịp điệu lạnh lùng của nó, vẫn thả ra những sức mạnh không sao ngăn nổi như tự nhiên.”
