गन्धर्वा गीतकुशला नृत्येषु च विशारदा: । रमयन्ति सम तान्‌ विप्रान्‌ यज्ञकर्मान्तरेषु वै

Transliteration

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: Gandharvā gītakuśalā nṛtyeṣu ca viśāradāḥ | ramayanti sma tān viprān yajñakarmāntareṣu vai ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana nói: Các Gandharva—giỏi ca hát và tinh thông vũ điệu—đã làm vui lòng các vị tư tế brāhmaṇa trong những quãng nghỉ giữa các nghi thức tế lễ. Bởi vậy, ngay giữa kỷ luật trang nghiêm của lễ Aśvamedha, nghệ thuật vẫn được dùng theo đúng dharma: để làm tươi tỉnh người chủ lễ và giữ cho dòng chảy nghi lễ vận hành điều hòa, mà không hề phương hại đến sự linh thiêng.
