वज्रदत्तेन सह अर्जुनयुद्धम्

स तैर्विद्धो महानागो विस्रवन् रुधिरं वभौ । गैरिकाक्तमिवाम्भोडडद्रिरबहुप्रस्रवणं तदा
sa tair viddho mahānāgo visravan rudhiraṃ vabhau | gairikāktaṃ ivāmbhoda-drir bahu-prasravaṇaṃ tadā ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Bị những mũi tên ấy xuyên thấu, con voi hùng mạnh bắt đầu tuôn ra những dòng máu. Khi ấy nó trông như một ngọn núi mang mưa, loang đỏ màu đất son, từ đó vô số mạch suối phun trào—một hình ảnh làm nổi bật nỗi xót xa của bạo lực và cái giá nghiệt ngã của chiến trận.
