वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma expressed as prompt, faithful fulfillment of one’s obligation to the guru’s household—acting to please the guru-patnī and hastening to complete the entrusted task without negligence.
Uttaṅka has obtained the divine earrings desired by his teacher’s wife; carrying them, he departs quickly and heads toward Gautama’s hermitage to deliver them and complete his duty.
