कं भवत्यै प्रयच्छामि गुर्वर्थ विनियुड्धक्ष्य माम्‌ । प्रियं हितं च काड्क्षामि प्राणैरपि धनैरपि

Transliteration

kaṃ bhavatyai prayacchāmi gurvarthaṃ viniyuddhakṣya mām | priyaṃ hitaṃ ca kāṅkṣāmi prāṇair api dhanair api ||

Translation

Gautama nói: “Con phải dâng gì làm guru-dakṣiṇā (lễ vật tạ ơn thầy)? Xin Mẫu thân truyền lệnh. Con khát khao làm điều vừa được Mẫu thân yêu mến vừa đem lợi ích cho Mẫu thân—dẫu phải đổi bằng sinh mạng hay bằng toàn bộ tài sản của con.”
