Adhyāya 42 — Mahābhūta–Indriya–Adhyātma-Vyavasthā
Brahmā’s Instruction on Elements and Faculties
The verse links a deity/being associated with Vāyu (Maruta) to an adhyātmic (inner) principle connected with tvak, the sense-organ of touch—suggesting that sensory faculties can be understood and disciplined through an inner, spiritual framework rather than mere outward experience.
Vāyudeva is speaking and identifying or addressing a figure described as ‘second’ and ‘born of the Wind,’ praising their renown in relation to the adhyātmic aspect of tvak (skin/touch). The line functions as a characterization within a broader discourse that correlates beings/deities with specific inner principles.
