Adhyāya 40: Brahmā on Mahān (The Great Principle) and the All-Pervading Puruṣa
विष्णुरेवादिसर्गेषु स्वयम्भूर्भवति प्रभु:
viṣṇur evādi-sargeṣu svayambhūr bhavati prabhuḥ |
Vāyu nói: “Trong những cuộc sáng tạo nguyên sơ, chính Viṣṇu—Đấng Tối Thượng, bậc Chúa tể—là Đấng tự hiển lộ (svayambhū).” Lời dạy này nhấn mạnh rằng Đấng Tối Cao không do bất cứ nguyên nhân bên ngoài nào sinh ra; bằng chính ý chí của Ngài, Ngài hiện ra vào buổi đầu của tạo hóa. Ai biết Đấng Chí Tôn ấy—ngự trong “hang động” của trí tuệ như vị chủ tể nội tại, mang hình tướng vũ trụ, là Nhân Vật Nguyên Thủy, rực sáng như vàng (hiraṇmaya), và là cứu cánh tối thượng của bậc hiền trí—người ấy vượt qua giới hạn của trí năng thường tình và đạt đến cảnh giới tối cao.
