Arjuna’s request to Krishna and the opening of the Kāśyapa–Brāhmaṇa mokṣa discourse (Āśvamedhika-parva 16)
abhijāne ca tad ahaṃ yadartha mām upāgataḥ | acirāt tu gamiṣyāmi tenāhaṃ tvām acūcudam |
“Ta nhận rõ mục đích vì sao ngươi đến gặp ta. Nhưng chẳng bao lâu nữa ta sẽ rời khỏi nơi này; bởi vậy ta đã thúc giục ngươi cất lời—hãy hỏi điều ngươi muốn hỏi, chớ do dự.”
सिद्ध उवाच
The verse emphasizes timely inquiry and purposeful dialogue: a wise teacher, aware of the seeker’s intent and the shortness of time, urges the seeker to ask directly so that instruction can be given without delay.
A Siddha addresses a visitor who has approached with a specific aim. Knowing he will soon depart, the Siddha encourages the visitor to speak up and pose the intended question, setting the stage for instruction.
