वैशम्पायन उवाच
Rulership (rājadharma) can become a heavy duty rather than a source of pleasure when won at the cost of loved ones; ethical governance requires enduring responsibility even amid personal sorrow.
After the great destruction of his relatives and allies, Yudhiṣṭhira remains inwardly unjoyful, yet he continues to sustain the kingdom—carrying on rule despite grief.
