Kuntī’s Retrospective Uddharṣaṇa and Renunciatory Resolve (कुन्त्युद्धर्षण-प्रत्याख्यानम्)
ततस्ते बाष्पमुत्सृज्य गान्धारीसहितं नृपम् । उपतस्थुर्महात्मानो मातरं च यथाविधि
tatas te bāṣpam utsṛjya gāndhārī-sahitaṁ nṛpam | upatasthur mahātmāno mātaraṁ ca yathā-vidhi ||
Rồi, gạt nước mắt sang một bên, các Pāṇḍava cao cả tiến đến, theo đúng lễ nghi, đảnh lễ vua Dhṛtarāṣṭra cùng với Gāndhārī, và cũng đảnh lễ mẹ mình là Kuntī. Cảnh ấy nêu bật nỗi đau có kỷ luật: buồn thương được thừa nhận, nhưng bổn phận và lòng kính trọng bậc trưởng thượng vẫn được giữ trọn bằng phép tắc.
