धृतराष्ट्रस्य क्षमायाचनं तथा युधिष्ठिरे न्यासदानम् / Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Request for Forgiveness and the Entrustment to Yudhiṣṭhira
तासां नादो रुदतीनां तदासीदू राजन् दुःखात् कुररीणामिवोच्चै: । ततो निष्पेतुर्रह्यिणक्षत्रियाणां विट्शूद्राणां चैव भार्या: समान्तात्
tāsāṃ nādo rudatīnāṃ tadāsīdū rājann duḥkhāt kurarīṇām ivoccaiḥ | tato niṣpetur gṛhiṇāṃ kṣatriyāṇāṃ viṭśūdrāṇāṃ caiva bhāryāḥ samāntāt ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: “Tâu đại vương, khi ấy tiếng khóc của những người phụ nữ ấy vang lên dữ dội—như tiếng kêu xé lòng của chim kurarī—phát sinh từ nỗi sầu. Rồi từ khắp nơi, vợ của các gia chủ—cả Kṣatriya lẫn Vaiśya và Śūdra—đều vội vã chạy ra khỏi nhà.”
