Puṣkara-Śapatha Itihāsa (Agastya–Indra Dispute at the Tīrthas) | पुष्कर-शपथ-आख्यानम्

उपाध्यायमध: कृत्वा ऋचो<ध्येतु अजूंषि च । जुहोतु च स कक्षाग्नौ बिसस्तैन्यं करोति यः:

upādhyāyam adhaḥ kṛtvā ṛco 'dhyetuṃ yajūṃṣi ca | juhotu ca sa kakṣāgnau bisastainyaṃ karoti yaḥ ||

Bharadvāja nói: “Kẻ trộm bisas (xơ cuống sen) mắc cùng một tội như người bắt thầy (upādhyāya) ngồi chỗ thấp rồi học Ṛgveda và Yajurveda trong sự bất kính, lại dâng cúng vào một ngọn lửa rơm cỏ tầm thường. Lời dạy là: trộm cắp tưởng nhỏ mà là sự vi phạm dharma nghiêm trọng; và học thuật, tế lễ thiêng liêng, khi làm với lòng khinh mạn thầy và sai nghi thức, thì trở thành hành vi tội lỗi chứ không còn là công đức.”
