प्रतिग्रहभेदः — The Distinction between Giving and Accepting
Vṛṣādarbhī–Saptarṣi Dialogue
यानि तस्यैव भोज्यानि मूलानि च फलानि च
yāni tasyaiva bhojyāni mūlāni ca phalāni ca | śrāddhake śāstreṣu ye phala-mūlādayo bhojyāḥ kathitāḥ, teṣu ca ye ye tasya putrasya priyā āsan, tān sarvān manasā niścitya sa tapodhanaḥ saṅgṛhītavān ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Ông thu nhặt chính những vật thực—rễ và quả—mà kinh điển quy định cho lễ śrāddha. Trước hết, ông tự định trong lòng rằng trong các lễ vật ấy, thứ nào đặc biệt được con trai mình ưa thích; rồi vị khổ hạnh có công phu tu tập lớn ấy đã gom đủ tất cả.”
