संजुहावात्मना55त्मानं स्वयमेव तदा प्रभो | यज्ञं च शोभयामास बहुरूपं पिनाकधृत्,प्रभो! पिनाकधारी महादेवजीने अनेक रूपवाले उस यज्ञकी शोभा बढ़ायी और उन्होंने स्वयं ही अपने द्वारा अपने आपको आहुति प्रदान की
saṁjuhāvātmanātmānaṁ svayam eva tadā prabho | yajñaṁ ca śobhayāmāsa bahurūpaṁ pinākadhṛt ||
Vasiṣṭha nói: “Muôn tâu Chúa Tể, khi ấy Mahādeva—Đấng mang cung Pināka—hiện ra trong nhiều hình tướng, làm tăng thêm vẻ huy hoàng của tế lễ ấy; và chính bằng tự thân mình, Ngài tự hiến chính mình làm lễ vật.”
वसिष्ठ उवाच
The verse highlights the ideal of complete consecration: the divine exemplifies the highest sacrifice by offering the self, suggesting that true yajña is not merely external ritual but total dedication and surrender aligned with dharma.
Vasiṣṭha describes Mahādeva (Śiva), the bearer of the Pināka bow, appearing in many forms to enhance the splendour of a sacrificial rite and, in a striking act, offering his own self as the oblation.
