Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
अग्न्यभावे च कुरुते वह्निस्थानेषु काउ्चनम् | जामदग्न्य प्रमाणज्ञो वेदश्रुतिनिदर्शनात्
agnyabhāve ca kurute vahnistāneṣu kāñcanam | jāmadagnyaḥ pramāṇajño vedaśrutinidarśanāt ||
Vasiṣṭha nói: “Khi không có lửa, người am tường chuẩn cứ (pramāṇa)—như được mặc khải trong Veda—có thể dùng vàng thay cho lửa ở nơi cần lửa. Hỡi Paraśurāma, con của Jamadagni, điều ấy cho thấy dharma được gìn giữ bằng cách theo tiền lệ Veda và dùng vật thay thế đã được chuẩn nhận khi hoàn cảnh không cho phép thực hành nghi lễ chính.”
